Hey there!
Summer break is quickly fading away and there’s a crispness in the air as I write this. My kids are headed to 4th and 7th grades…school supplies and new shoes are purchased. Schedules are picked up and teachers will be met this week. All these back to school shenanigans have me excited to get back to work myself. I’ve been ordering supplies myself, making lists and setting my fall art show schedule. It seems like the perfect time to “re-launch” my website with some new Art Blocks!
October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, is right around the corner and so is the Join the Journey Breast Cancer Walk here in Rochester, MN…which has me thinking Pink Ribbons! I also wanted to do something to honor my friend, Allison, who has been fighting breast cancer since she discovered a lump while nursing her newborn three months ago. She has formed a team, “Gwen’s Groupies” for the walk and I’m going to donate 50% of the sales of these blocks (and the feather “Warrior Block, below) to Allison’s team.
I’m gearing up for new Fall Art, Christmas Art and I’m thinking about new design ideas for my Word of the Year 2020 Art Blocks! Stay tuned here for dates and details. In the meantime, head over to my Instagram page for daily pics of all the art happenings in my studio.
